SMAQ
is a collaborative studio for architecture, urbanism and research. It
was established by Sabine Müller and Andreas Quednau in New York in 1998
and is now located in Berlin and Rotterdam.
SMAQ designs environments which become positioned within the establishing
urban-landscape continuum. Independent projects, research and exhibitions
are based on the understanding of the urban field as a dynamic product
of social developments. They examine the way in which social-urban processes
are inscribing themselves into the physical realm, and in turn could be
inscribed in a transformative manner.
